Alexandra Zeldenrust receives award during Honors Day ceremonies at Wofford College

Wofford College senior Alexandra Zeldenrust was recognized on May 3 during Honors Day ceremonies when she received the Walter E. Hudgins Award and the Heart of a Terrier Leadership Award.

Zeldenrust is majoring in psychology with a concentration in neuroscience and minoring in sociology. A resident advisor, she also was a teaching assistant in the Department of Biology and an animal care technician in the Department of Psychology. Zeldenrust was a Success Initiative scholarship recipient and a member of Psychology Kingdom.

The Walter E. Hudgins Award honors students who not only perform well in class, but also display intellectual curiosity and zest for learning and life outside the academic classroom. The Heart of a Terrier Leadership Award recognizes students who have made a positive difference on the campus and excelled in scholarship, leadership and campus citizenship and service.

The academic major awards are made by the faculty to seniors recommended by the major departments on the basis of academic achievement, character and intellectual promise. Some of the awards are named in honor of persons who have made significant contributions to the intellectual life of the college.
