Carol Morel attends National Bonner Congress meeting

2014 Oct 22

Bonner Scholar Carol Morel attended the National Bonner Congress meeting, held on Oct. 18, 2014, at Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C. The mission of the Congress is to develop their Big Ideas, strategize about issues in their region, and learn from each other and national partner organizations.

Morel, a member of the class of 2017, is majoring in environmental science with a minor in mathematics. Her Bonner work has been primarily at Upstate Forever.

In the fall of 1990, the Corella and Bertram F. Bonner Foundation began recognizing students who demonstrated the ability to succeed both in the classroom of their colleges and in the communities beyond those classrooms. To promising students whose economic situations ordinarily demanded that they spend their out of class hours and summer months raising money to meet college expenses, the Bonner Foundation awarded scholarships and provided other practical support.

Bonner Scholarships provide deserving students with financial access to a Wofford education while providing them with the opportunities, resources and skills to serve humanity. Wofford Bonner Scholars volunteer at least 10 hours each week during the school year and 280 hours over each of at least two summers.
