Carol Wagih Sadek inducted into Phi Beta Kappa at Wofford College

Carol Wagih Sadek, a member of the class of 2015, was accorded Wofford College's highest academic honor Thursday, May 7, when she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.

Sadek is majoring in computer science and mathematics with a concentration in computational science. She is a member of the Math Club and the Math Research Group and has tutored for both mathematics and computer science. Sadek was inducted into the mathematics honor society Pi Mu Epsilon, received Honorable Mention for the COMAP mathematical modeling competition and was a finalist for the CCSE-SE regional computer science competition. She also did summer research at the Oak Ridge National Laboratories and with the NSA. A candidate for both a bachelor of arts and a bachelor of science degree, Sadek will pursue her Ph.D. in applied mathematics at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill..

Thirty-five Wofford College students and recent graduates were initiated as members-in-course during the ceremony that marked the 74th anniversary of Phi Beta Kappa at Wofford.
