Courtney Green Honored at Wofford College Greek Awards Program

Courtney Green received the Panhellenic Woman of the Year Award during the Wofford College Greek Awards Program held on March 20, 2012. The Woman of the Year Award is given to an upperclass Panhellenic member who, through programs, projects, service or actions, has displayed the ideals of Greek life: scholarship, wellness, fine standards, service to the college and community, development of character, and furtherance of Greek life. During her time at Wofford, Green has served in numerous leadership positions within her sorority including vice president of adiministration and vice president of public relations. Since her freshman year she has seen the benefits of Greek life and has strived in being a true Greek woman, participating in not only her sorority's philanthropies, but also those of other Greek organizations, all while maintaining a strong academic record.

Green, a member of the class of 2012, is the daughter of Raleigh and Laura Green of Johnson City, Tenn. 37604.

Wofford College, established in 1854, is an independent liberal arts college of 1,550 students in Spartanburg, S.C. Wofford ranks 2nd nationally in the percentage of undergraduates receiving credit for study abroad. Home to one of the nation's 280 Phi Beta Kappa chapters, Wofford's historic 170-acre campus is recognized as a national arboretum. Wofford is affiliated with the United Methodist Church.
