Cristian Widenhouse receives award during Honors Convocation at Wofford College on Tuesday, May 8

Wofford College senior Cristian Widenhouse received the Dan W. Olds Award, the departmental award for computer science. Dan W. Olds joined the faculty in 1963 as professor of physics and served as director of academic computing and director of computer services until his retirement in 2000. Widenhouse is majoring in computer science with a minor in philosophy.

The academic major awards are made by the faculty to seniors recommended by the major departments on the basis of academic achievement, character and intellectual promise. Some of the awards are named in honor of persons who have made significant contributions to the intellectual life of the college.
