Daniel McCormac Bennett receives award during Honors Day ceremonies at Wofford College

Wofford College senior Daniel McCormac Bennett was recognized on May 6 during Honors Day ceremonies when he received the the David Duncan Wallace Award, the departmental award for art history. Bennett majored in history with a minor in economics and received a bachelor of arts degree on May 18, 2014..

Bennett was the recipient of numerous scholarships at Wofford, among them the Lewis P. Jones Scholarship and the 1854 Scholarship. He was a member of the Wofford football team and spent the spring of his junior year at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. Bennett plans to pursue a master's degree at the College of Charleston.

The academic major awards are made by the faculty to seniors recommended by the major departments on the basis of academic achievement, character and intellectual promise. Some of the awards are named in honor of persons who have made significant contributions to the intellectual life of the college.
