Daniel Stephen Couch receives award during Honors Convocation at Wofford College

Wofford College student Daniel Stephen Couch received the Dan W. Olds Award, the departmental award for computer science, during Honors Convocation on May 9. Dan W. Olds joined the faculty in 1963 as professor of physics and served as director of academic computing and director of computer services until his retirement in 2000. He is majoring in computer science and mathematics with an emphasis in computational science and a concentration in applied mathematics.

The academic major awards are made by the faculty to seniors recommended by the major departments on the basis of academic achievement, character and intellectual promise. Some of the awards are named in honor of persons who have made significant contributions to the intellectual life of the college.
