Devon Victoria Wasche receives award during Honors Convocation at Wofford College

Wofford College student Devon Victoria Wasche received the W. Ray Leonard Award, the departmental award for biology, during Honors Convocation on May 9. W. Ray Leonard taught biology at Wofford from 1949 to 1993 and retired as chair of the department and William R. Kenan Professor of Biology. She is majoring in biology with a minor in chemistry.

The academic major awards are made by the faculty to seniors recommended by the major departments on the basis of academic achievement, character and intellectual promise. Some of the awards are named in honor of persons who have made significant contributions to the intellectual life of the college.
