Erica Lynn Cousins receives award during Honors Day ceremonies at Wofford College

Wofford College senior Erica Lynn Cousins was recognized on May 6 during Honors Day ceremonies when she received the the James E. Seegars Psychology Award. Cousins majored in biology and psychology with minors in computer science and mathematics, concentration in neuroscience and received a bachelor of science degree on May 18, 2014..

Cousins attended Wofford with an Anna Todd Wofford Scholarship and a Joe Martin Scholarship. She has served in a variety of leadership positions with the Glendale Outdoor Leadership School. As a teaching assistant and master of statistical software, she already has published her research and is working on a second article. She plans to enroll in graduate school for a career in genetic counseling.

The academic major awards are made by the faculty to seniors recommended by the major departments on the basis of academic achievement, character and intellectual promise. Some of the awards are named in honor of persons who have made significant contributions to the intellectual life of the college.
