Holly Elizabeth Reynolds inducted into Phi Beta Kappa at Wofford College

Holly Elizabeth Reynolds, a member of the class of 2017, was accorded Wofford College's highest academic honor Tuesday, May 9, when she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.

Reynolds is majoring in mathematics through the Teacher Education program. A 2016 Commencement marshal, she has been on the Dean's List each semester. Reynolds is captain of the Wofford Dance Team, a member of the women's choir, and a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, where she served as chief financial officer and chief administrative officer. She interned at schools in Barcelona, Spain, last summer gaining new perspectives on education. A candidate for a bachelor of science degree, Reynolds will begin teaching at the Dorman High School Freshman Campus in the fall..

Thirty-seven Wofford College students and recent graduates were initiated as members-in-course during the ceremony that marked the 76th anniversary of Phi Beta Kappa at Wofford.

Students are normally considered for election to Phi Beta Kappa at Wofford after they have earned 100 credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.600. Election is not automatic. Resident members of the chapter consider scholarship, character, intellectual curiosity, creative thinking, diversity of academic interests and pursuits, and other factors in the election process The chapter may elect only 10 percent of a graduating class in any year.
