Kaitlyn Britt interns with the Natural Resources Division of the Iowa Tribe in Oklahoma

Kaitlyn Britt, a member of the Wofford College class of 2018, interned with the Natural Resources Division of the Iowa Tribe in Oklahoma during Interim in January 2017. The Natural Resources Division handles buffalo and aviary issues and management, soil and water conservation, and tribal horse training. The division's emphasis on the value of conservation allowed Britt to learn about writing grants and applying for federal aid for these types of programs.

Britt credits her preparedness for the internship to her studies in the Department of Government and International Affairs at Wofford and believes the internship provided valuable lessons for the working world, such as problem solving, conflict resolution and working with people of diverse backgrounds.
