Katherine Beuerlein studies abroad during Interim 2018

2018 Jan 22

Katherine Beuerlein is is studying abroad in Spain and Morocco as part of the Interim course: Snapshots from the Strait of Gibraltar: Digital Transcriptions of Culture, Architecture, and Religion. Traveling in Spain and Morocco, the course will focus on digital photography, travel writing/blogging, navigating various technology platforms, and engaging with online environments. Students also will analyze American notions of Spanish and Moroccan cultures and reflect on social aspects of climate and geography.

Interim permits students and professors to concentrate for the month of January on a single study project of his or her choosing. Interim projects are designed to move beyond traditional classroom courses and teaching methods, to consider important topics in relevant ways and places, to observe issues in action, to develop capacities for independent learning, and to encourage the responsible self-direction of educational development.
