Katherine Lacy Smith Inducted into Phi Beta Kappa at Wofford College

Katherine Lacy Smith was accorded Wofford College's highest academic honor Thursday, April 26, when she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Parent(s)/Guardian: Judy Lagerstrom of Anderson, S.C. 29625.

Smith is majoring in art history and German. She is a member of Delta Phi Alpha, the German Honor Society; Kappa Alpha Theta, where she was recruitment chair; and the Rotary Club, where she was vice president. Smith also has served as assistant to both the Department of Art History and the Department of Foreign Languages. She received several scholarships, and has been a perennial member of the dean's list. Smith was selected as a Community of Scholars research fellow, a presenter at the Southeastern College of Art Conference, a SCICU Undergraduate Research Fellow, and is an honors candidate in art history. She also is founder of Wofford's Fashion Club and a regular contributor to the blog CollegeFashionista. A candidate for the B.A. degree in May 2012, Smith plans to apply to graduate programs in art history and German.

Thirty-five Wofford College students and recent graduates were initiated as members-in-course during the ceremony that marked the 71st anniversary of Phi Beta Kappa at Wofford.
