Kelsey Aylor receives award during Honors Convocation at Wofford College on Tuesday, May 8

Wofford College senior Kelsey Aylor received the L. Harris Chewning Award, the departmental award for English, the W. Norman Cochran Award and the departmental award for humanities. L. Harris Chewning joined the faculty in 1957 as professor of English and chair of the department, retiring in 1981. The W. Norman Cochran Award is given for outstanding achievement in the field of student publications. Aylor is majoring in English, humanities, and Spanish.

The academic major awards are made by the faculty to seniors recommended by the major departments on the basis of academic achievement, character and intellectual promise. Some of the awards are named in honor of persons who have made significant contributions to the intellectual life of the college.
