Kulsoom Junaid Haq inducted into Phi Beta Kappa at Wofford College

Kulsoom Junaid Haq, a member of the class of 2015, was accorded Wofford College's highest academic honor Thursday, May 7, when she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.

Haq is majoring in French and history. She was a member of Twin Towers service organization and the French Club and holds leadership positions as president of the Muslim Student Association and supervisor of Wofford on Call. As an Impact scholar in The Space, Haq created Fantasyland, a non-profit organization aimed at providing the magic of Disney to underprivileged children in the community of Spartanburg. During Wofford's 2014 Impact & Launch Competition, she pitched Fantasyland and won first place. Haq has pursued her passion in fashion design on-campus as costume designer for the Wofford production of "The Good Woman of Setzuan" and off-campus with two internships under Parisian designers in the fall of 2014. A candidate for a bachelor of arts degree, Haq plans to pursue graduate work at the School of Art in Chicago or Parsons: The New School for Design..

Thirty-five Wofford College students and recent graduates were initiated as members-in-course during the ceremony that marked the 74th anniversary of Phi Beta Kappa at Wofford.
