Lauren Victoria Crawford receives award during Honors Convocation at Wofford College

Wofford College student Lauren Victoria Crawford received the John L. Salmon Award, the departmental award for Spanish, during Honors Convocation on May 9. John L. Salmon joined the modern languages faculty in 1921 and retired in 1966 as John M. Reeves Professor of Foreign Languages She is majoring in biology and Spanish with a minor in chemistry.

The academic major awards are made by the faculty to seniors recommended by the major departments on the basis of academic achievement, character and intellectual promise. Some of the awards are named in honor of persons who have made significant contributions to the intellectual life of the college.
