Leigh Lesesne studies abroad during Interim 2018

Leigh Lesesne is is studying abroad in Vietnam and Cambodia while participating in the Interim course: Old Asia, New Asia. This course will focus on the economic and social challenges that Vietnam and Cambodia faces. Students will experience and document changes in food, culture and religion in the rural and urban regions of each country and learn how historical events have shaped Southeast Asia as we know it today.

Interim permits students and professors to concentrate for the month of January on a single study project of his or her choosing. Interim projects are designed to move beyond traditional classroom courses and teaching methods, to consider important topics in relevant ways and places, to observe issues in action, to develop capacities for independent learning, and to encourage the responsible self-direction of educational development.
