Madeleine Kaplan conducts independent project during Interim 2016

2016 Feb 15

Wofford's Interim is a time for exploration and experiential learning away from the rigors of traditional academic courses for students and faculty alike. Madeleine Kaplan was one of several students who chose to participate in an internship or research project during Interim 2016. Kaplan's independent Interim project was a soccer coaching internship. Kaplan's career goal after graduation is to coach soccer. She completed a class and passed four tests to become certified as a community coach for Georgia high schools, and she achieved her National F license through an online course. Kaplan also shadowed the coach of the varsity soccer team at the Westminster Schools in Atlanta, Ga., and by the end of January, was planning and running soccer practices with the assistance of the coach.
