Mahalia Chante Sapp inducted into Phi Beta Kappa at Wofford College

Mahalia Chante Sapp, a member of the class of 2015, was accorded Wofford College's highest academic honor Thursday, May 7, when she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.

Sapp is majoring in accounting and mathematics. She has participated in the research experience for undergraduate summer programs in mathematics at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and at St. Mary's College of Maryland. This spring she was a volunteer in the United Way Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program preparing tax returns for low-income Spartanburg residents. A candidate for a bachelor of arts degree, Sapp plans to pursue a master's degree in accounting at Wake Forest University, where she has been awarded a full scholarship..

Thirty-five Wofford College students and recent graduates were initiated as members-in-course during the ceremony that marked the 74th anniversary of Phi Beta Kappa at Wofford.
