Stephanie Iris Vlandis receives award during Honors Day ceremonies at Wofford College

Wofford College senior Stephanie Iris Vlandis was recognized on May 7 during Honors Day ceremonies when she received the the Peter Allen Moore Award for Strings. Vlandis is majoring in accounting. the Peter Allen Moore '69 Award honors outstanding student achievement in the strings program. The award recognizes a cherished member of the Wofford and Spartanburg communities whose contributions to orchestral music helped lead to the emergency of a noteworthy instrumental ensemble.

The academic major awards are made by the faculty to seniors recommended by the major departments on the basis of academic achievement, character and intellectual promise. Some of the awards are named in honor of persons who have made significant contributions to the intellectual life of the college.
