Chrisler White '28 was selected for the Douglass-O'Connell Global Internship in Dublin. This program recieves over 500 applicants each year, and White was one of 14 students accepted nationwide.

Jenna Huser '29 and Amelia Jones '29 have turned dinner in Burwell Dining Hall into an event. As marketing and social media interns for AVI Foodsystems, they organized hit events like TikTok Night and "Stranger Things" Dinner during fall semester, and have exciting plans for spring.

This summer, two Wofford students have picked up where they left off last summer. Clayton Hixon '26, a government major from Jackson, Georgia, and Julio Del Jesus '25, a government major from Kissimmee, Florida, are back in the courthouse with the Hon. Timothy Madden '85, continuing their legal internship with the 13th Judicial Circuit in Greenville, South Carolina. Last summer's internship enabled Hixon and Del Jesus to learn various components of law and how they interconnect. This year, they are making connections by visiting courthouses across the state, learning about different specialties in law, meeting with lawyers and networking in the legal community. Madden, a family court judge, has also taken the students to visit the University of South Carolina's Joseph F. Rice School of Law, where he completed his Juris Doctor degree.

In February, Samuel Cornett '26, a finance major from Nicholasville, Kentucky, decided to seek summer internship opportunities near Wofford College's campus. He searched "wealth management" and found 1670 Wealth Management among the top results. "I wanted real-world experience, and, with my summer football schedule, I was looking for something in the area" says Cornett, a quarterback for the Terriers and member of the student-managed James-Atkins Investment Fund. "They were only about a mile from campus, so I sent them an email."

Mary-Patterson Suggs '24 knows how difficult it can be for students lacking clinical experience to choose career specialties in health care. For that reason, Suggs, a biology major on the pre-med track from Charleston, South Carolina, picked Clinical Internship in Medicine as the final Interim course of her Wofford career. "I'm a senior and have some pretty big decisions coming up," Suggs says. "I wanted to challenge myself and explore at least some of the options out there. Interim is such a special tradition and, this being my last one, I wanted to make the most of it."

Traveling is usually a bad thing in basketball. Michael Henson '25 spent his entire summer doing it and didn't draw a single whistle. Henson moved between several power five colleges teaching young kids basketball while also creating connections for his future in the sport.

Most people don't know they have an aortic aneurysm until they need emergency treatment. Mark Hanna '25 spent the summer conducting research with the goal of changing that.

There is a lot more to the college application process than filling out an application. Wofford College faculty and a student spent time guiding high school students from around Spartanburg through the finer details of attending college by hosting an iCAN Spartanburg camp.

Joel Gammah '26 has spent his summer solving math problems and teaching others. Gammah, a computer science major and mathematics minor from Cape Coast, Ghana, is interning at the National Museum of Mathematics (MoMath) in New York City. His primary role is guiding visitors as they explore the museum exhibits and ensuring they understand the mathematical concepts behind each display.

Many students concentrating on pre-medicine at Wofford College have plans of working on the clinical side of healthcare. John Harrington '23 is exploring the administrative side as well. Harrington, a biology major from Houston, Texas, spent Interim studying at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. He split time between the health system's Spartanburg Medical Center and Pelham Medical Center campuses.

If she wanted, Grayson Carter '22 could add a line to her resume that would make her the envy of current and former IndyCar drivers everywhere: "Wrecked Mario Andretti."

A lot of people have had Zoom calls with the boss over the past year and half. Fadzai Mushayamunda '22, is no exception. As part of her internship with NBC News' "TODAY" Show, Mushayamunda, a humanities major and Bonner Scholar from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, got to sit in on a call with The Boss. As in Bruce Springsteen. Mushayamunda also has been on calls with Jennifer Lopez, actor James Michael Tyler (Gunther from "Friends") and Brandon Flowers (lead singer and keyboardist for The Killers). "Mainly I'm in charge of recording the interviews," Mushayamunda says. "It's a lot of fun."

Eyon Brown '21 went straight from graduation to the hall of fame. Brown, who graduated in May with a B.A. degree in English, is spending his summer as a marketing intern at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

Robert Lamprecht '22 thought his summer internship would have him spending a lot of time building computer hardware and developing software. He was wrong. And he's OK with that. Lamprecht, a computer science major with a concentration in neuroscience from Moncks Corner, South Carolina, is one of 16 students from across the country selected for summer research programs at the University of Florida. Lamprecht is part of a team researching treatments for spinal cord injuries. The research focuses on respiratory issues associated with the injuries.

Maggie Royce '22 was selected for an internship with Chick-fil-A's enterprise innovation team, which is housed at the company's support center in Atlanta, Georgia. The company is hosting about 75 interns this summer, but Royce is the only one with the enterprise innovation team.

Four Wofford College juniors are spending the summer observing world leaders, celebrities, musicians and politicians while interning with the Aspen Institute, an international educational and policy studies organization based in Washington, D.C. The students will work at the institute's Aspen, Colo., campus during June, July and August.
